インド若手科学頭脳循環プログラム（LOTUS Programme）事務局でございます。
このたび、2026年度に実施予定の公募事業「インド若手科学頭脳循環プログラム－LOTUS Programme」
について、貴学会の皆様にご案内申し上げたく、ご連絡差し上げました。
本プログラムは、近年研究力が急速に成長し、優秀な若手研究人材の宝庫であるインドとの理工系分野に
おける連携強化を目的として実施するものです。
日本とインドの大学・研究機関による共同研究を通じて、インドの優秀な若手研究人材を日本へ招へいし、
日印双方の教員が共同で指導を行うとともに、国際的な頭脳循環人材の育成を図ることを目指しています。
これらの取組を通じ、我が国の研究力およびイノベーション力の一層の強化を図ります。
本公募は、2025年度に実施した同プログラムを継続・発展させる形での実施となり、
2026年度は、実施規模（約1,000件）および実施タイプ（1年型・3年型）を拡大して募集を行います。
昨年度は600件を超える多くのご提案をお寄せいただいたことから、本年度は、より幅広い分野、多様な
研究者・技術者の皆様からの積極的なご応募を期待しております。
本事業では、特定の専門分野に限定することなく、例えば以下のような観点を含む多様で意欲的な研究提案
を広く募集いたします。
・新規性・挑戦性の高い研究・技術提案
・将来的な社会実装や実用化を見据えた取組
・分野横断的・学際的な連携による研究・技術開発
また、本公募の趣旨や応募方法等について理解を深めていただくため、公募説明会の開催を予定しております。
応募をご検討中の研究者・技術者の皆様にとって有益な機会となりますので、ぜひご参加をご検討ください。

Dear Members of the Academic Society,
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued contributions to the advancement of science and technology in Japan.
This is the Secretariat of the India– LOTUS Programme, administered by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
We are writing to inform you of the launch of the call for applications for the FY2026 “India-Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programme,” and to kindly request your assistance in sharing this information with the members of your academic society.
The LOTUS Programme invites and supports outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from India to conduct research exchanges in Japan. The programme aims to promote and strengthen joint research between Japan and India by enhancing collaboration and building sustainable research networks between universities and research institutions in both countries.
Research projects under the programme are jointly supervised by faculty members from Japan and India, providing participants with opportunities to engage in existing or newly initiated bilateral collaborative research. In addition, the programme offers career development support for participants who are interested in pursuing a research career in Japan.
Building on the program implemented in FY2025, the FY2026 call will be expanded in both scale (approximately 1,000 projects) and project types (one-year and three-year schemes). Given that we received over 600 proposals last year, we look forward to applications from a broader range of disciplines and from a diverse community of researchers and engineers.
The call is open to a wide variety of ambitious research proposals without restriction to specific fields, including, for example:
- Highly novel and challenging research or technology proposals
- Initiatives with a view toward future social implementation or practical application
- Interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and development efforts
To help prospective applicants better understand the objectives of the program and the call for applications, briefing sessions for the call for applications will be held. We encourage interested researchers and engineers to participate.
