The 2024 FAOBMB Young Scientist Awards

Call for Nominations

Nomination Deadline: 15 March 2024 (1700 hrs GMT+8)

 

Dear Council Member delegates,

 

I am pleased to inform you that the call for nominations for the FAOBMB Young Scientist Awards 2024 is now open. There will be two awards according to the terms of the donation by Professor Yasuhiro Anraku in establishing these prestigious Young Scientist Awards: one each for the best male and the best female biochemist or molecular biologists in the FAOBMB region.

 

Please note that the applicants must be no more than 35 years of age at the closing date for applications, 15 March 2024. For this purpose, the date of birth of applicants must be not earlier than 16 March 1989.

 

The successful YSA applicants will receive awards of USD2,000 and an exemption of the Congress registration fee. The awardees will each give an oral presentation on their research at a special session of the Congress. In addition, the awardees will be invited to join the Young Scientist Program which will be held prior to the Congress.

Please bring this notice to the attention of members of your national societies of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, or equivalent Societies, in order that suitably qualified candidates in the FAOBMB region can be nominated for the FAOBMB Young Scientist Awards. To this purpose, the 2024 Nomination Form together with the Guidelines are enclosed. The award winners will be notified at least 4 months before the Congress.
